Who we are
Padel4Parkinsons is a community padel programme for people living with Parkinson's disease. We operate under the umbrella of Parkinson's UK. Our programme is run by volunteers based in Buckinghamshire, UK.
What information we collect
We may collect the following personal information:
Your name, address, phone number, email address, and date of birth. Emergency contact details. Health information, including your year of Parkinson's diagnosis, details of other health conditions, and information about medication you take. This is classified as special category data under UK GDPR and is collected with your explicit consent through our player registration form. Photo and video consent preferences. Any information you provide when contacting us through the website or by email.
How we collect your information
We collect information directly from you through our player registration form, through the contact form on this website, through our booking platform, and through any emails you send us.
Why we collect your information and our legal basis
We use your personal information for the following purposes:
To register you as a participant and manage your sessions. The legal basis for this is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR) and, for health data, your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a) UK GDPR).
To contact you about sessions, changes to the programme, and relevant news. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the programme (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR).
To contact your emergency contact in the event of an incident during a session. The legal basis is protecting your vital interests (Article 6(1)(d) UK GDPR).
To respond to enquiries submitted through the website contact form. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who get in touch with us (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR).
To capture photos and videos of sessions for use on our website, social media, and in grant applications, where you have given consent. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR).
How we store your information
Player registration data is stored securely in a password-protected file with access restricted to the programme organisers and coaches. Contact form submissions are stored by our website hosting provider and forwarded to us by email. We do not store your data on any public or unsecured platform.
How long we keep your information
We retain your player registration data for one year after you stop attending sessions. This allows us to maintain your details across seasonal breaks in the programme. After one year of inactivity, your data will be deleted. Contact form enquiries are retained for as long as they are needed to deal with your enquiry and then deleted.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell or share your personal information with any third parties for marketing purposes. We may share your information with Parkinson's UK where this is necessary for insurance, safeguarding, or the administration of donations made through their earmarked reference number system. Your data may also be processed by third-party service providers we use to run the programme, including our website hosting provider, booking platform, email communications platform, and form and data storage providers. Each of these processors has its own privacy policy and data processing agreements in place.
